The path onwards from 2021 continues to walk on uneven ground, with a cacophony of ways and hows from every angle. At the studio we continue to countdown and share with you some of the items and ideas we would put in our time capsule for later generations to understand. For us they straddle the very specific space of the timely with the timeless; sometimes sublimely anachronistic, fundamentally classic, and are reflective of a value system we hold true to. Time capsules are important memory tools and reminders that the past and present hold the keys to the future.

“I think the space has to be good for one and good for fifty.” — Sir Richard Rogers.

In an article written for The Guardian, Ruthie begins with “I think this house is timeless.” And it is, even though the kitchen is a vision for the future rendered in full stainless steel, taciturnly elegant, efficient and immaculate with all functional elements inset or camouflaged. It is a remarkable design that rests in silence yet holds an immense reserve of energy and creative electricity that can transform the life of the house.
